Saltire Roofing & Building teamed up with Edinburgh Rugby to support hundreds of local children over the festive period.
Saltire was the first corporate firm in Edinburgh to donate £1,000 to Cash for Kids Mission Christmas campaign in Edinburgh.
This allowed the charity to buy gifts for children who’d been identified as being at risk of waking up to nothing on Christmas morning.
It’s a huge campaign that Saltire proudly supports each year and on Thursday 11th December, we harnessed the power of our Community Partnership with Edinburgh Rugby to make an even bigger impact.
Saltire MD Steven McIntosh and his daughter Skye joined players Darcy Graham, Charlie McCaig, Fin Doyle, Paddy Harrison, Tom Dodd and Rhys Litterick to volunteer at Mission HQ to sort and pack hundreds of presents.
Cash for Kids Charity Manager Vic Hendry said:
“We’re so thankful to have had such incredible support from Saltire at Mission Christmas each year as without it, we just wouldn’t be able to reach every child who needs our help. It was also a real highlight to have Edinburgh Rugby join in this year! The team worked really hard at HQ and we’d love to welcome them back for the 2026 campaign.”

And of course, Christmas wouldn’t be complete without Steven’s annual trip to deliver 255 selection boxes to Clovenstone Primary School to ensure every child in the school and nursery has a Christmas treat to start the holidays.
Saltire has been supporting Clovenstone for five years now, funding the Clovenstone Kitchin food project, running activity workshops for pupils, delivering a weekly supply of fresh fruit plus extra sweet treats at Easter and Christmas.

“We’re so grateful to Saltire for everything they do to support our school. The children were absolutely delighted to receive their selection boxes, which were handed out at our Santa’s grotto. Thank you so much to Steven and the team at Saltire for their generosity and kindness.”
