More than a roof for Eyemouth kids this winter

Saltire Roofing & Building has donated £3,500 to help to feed and clothe dozens of pupils at a school it’s been working on this winter.

Our team were carrying out a job at Eyemouth Primary when they heard the school had applied to Radio Borders Cash for Kids for funding.

Saltire immediately donated £3,500 to buy warm coats, hats and scarfs for 80 children.

The money will also allow the school to extend and run their Breakfast Club for at least another 6 months.

Saltire Roofing & Building Managing Director Steven McIntosh said:

We carry out a lot of work in the Borders and Berwickshire areas and we like to give back to local communities. We were working on the roof at Eyemouth Primary School when we heard that some of the pupils were in need of support and we were delighted to offer our help straight away. It’s great to hear that these children will now start their day warm and cosy and with a full tummy.

In a thank you note, staff from Eyemouth Primary School said:

Thank you Cash for Kids and Saltire Roofing & Building for your kind donation to fund our Breakfast Club and to provide pupils with a winter coat, hat and gloves. This donation will enable pupils to start the day with a nutritional breakfast and enable pupils to keep warm and dry over the winter.
