Saltire helps kit out Coldstream pupils

Saltire Roofing & Building has reached out to help a school in the Scottish Borders to buy essential kit for vulnerable children.

Coldstream Primary applied to Radio Borders Cash for Kids for a £600 grant to purchase items such as school uniform, PE kits, wellies and outdoor jackets, plus a cost towards their Breakfast Club.

Our Managing Director Steven McIntosh, who is a long-standing supporter of the charity, immediately stepped in and offered a £300 donation towards the appeal.

Mr McIntosh said:

“We want to help make a difference to the communities we work in, by giving something back. When Cash for Kids told us about the application from Coldstream Primary School, we offered our support straight away. We carry out a lot of work in the Coldstream area, and have previously worked on the roof of the primary school itself, so we’re really happy to be making a donation that will directly benefit the pupils here.”

Coldstream Primary School Teacher, Meg Reid said:

“Many, many thanks for the grant you have given our school. This will enable us to stock up with jackets, boots, uniforms, PE kits and other items which will be of benefit to lots of children in the school.”
